Occupying a unique space in the UK coffee industry, Alchemy is an importer and roaster, a retailer and wholesaler; they are trainers, engineers and baristas.

A proudly independent coffee roastery based in London, carefully hand roasting small batches of quality coffee.

Being a small company allows them the privilege of choosing which farmers they most want to partner with through their Direct Trade programme - ensuring they both benefit.

Their farmers, roasters and baristas care for the coffee from seed to cup to preserve the inherent flavour of the coffee.

Joe is the co-founder of Alchemy, Ristretto and the Daily Grind, growing the company from a small market stall. I feel I've met Joe at festivals and shows in the past, but it was Feburary of 2019 when we first formally met and since then I've really enjoyed meeting up at the roastery looking at shipping options for Alchemy to bring in their coffee from producers they have held relationships with for many years and many harvests.

I really love the cafes in London and hope we can all enjoy the new Shorditch cafe as well as the long standing cafe just behind St Pauls.

This particular coffee is one I shared with Joe in the Shoredich cafe earlier this year and I wanted to share it with you. It's a really beautiful coffee from Lucia Ortiz' farm, La Avila, which grows some of El Salvadors most acclaimed coffees.
